เมื่อวันที่ 16 สิงหาคม 2567 นางเอกสิริ ปิณฑะรุจิ ปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้เข้าร่วมการหารืออย่างไม่เป็นทางการกับนายหวัง อี้ สมาชิกกรมการเมือง ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานคณะกรรมการกลางด้านกิจการต่างประเทศประจำพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์จีน และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศจีน นายตาน ส่วย รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา และนายสะเหลิมไซ กมมะสิด รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ในระหว่างการเข้าร่วมการประชุมรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศกรอบความร่วมมือแม่โขง-ล้านช้าง (Mekong-Lancang Cooperation: MLC) ครั้งที่ 9 ที่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่
ทั้ง 4 ประเทศได้แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นกันอย่างตรงไปตรงมาและสร้างสรรค์เกี่ยวกับบทบาทสำคัญของประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในการช่วยส่งเสริมสันติภาพ เสถียรภาพ ความเป็นปึกแผ่น และการพัฒนาของเมียนมา รวมถึงแนวทางความร่วมมือเรื่องความมั่นคงชายแดนและการปราบปรามอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ โดยเฉพาะปัญหายาเสพติดและการหลอกลวงออนไลน์
Informal Discussion between the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Foreign Ministers of China, Myanmar, and Lao PDR
On 16 August 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had an informal discussion with H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, H.E. U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, during the 9th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The 4 countries had a frank and constructive exchange of views on the important role of neighboring countries in helping to promote peace, stability, unity and development of Myanmar. They also discussed potential cooperation on border security and combating transnational organized crimes, especially narcotic drugs and online scams.
