เมื่อวันที่ 18 กรกฎาคม 2567 กรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
โดยสำนักงานเลขาธิการชั่วคราว ACMECS ได้จัดกิจกรรมเปิดตัวตราสัญลักษณ์ ACMECS ที่กรุงเทพฯ พร้อมด้วยการมอบรางวัลให้แก่ผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศการประกวดตราสัญลักษณ์ดังกล่าว โดยมีนายไพศาล หรูพาณิชย์กิจ รองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเป็นประธาน และผู้แทนจากประเทศสมาชิก ACMECS และภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วมงาน

รองปลัดกระทรวงฯ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์เปิดงานโดยย้ำถึงความสำคัญของยุทธศาสตร์ความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจอิรวดี - เจ้าพระยา - แม่โขง (ACMECS) ในการดำเนินความร่วมมือในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง ทั้งระหว่างประเทศสมาชิก ACMECS กันเอง และระหว่าง ACMECS กับหุ้นส่วนเพื่อการพัฒนา (Development Partners: DPs) โดย ACMECS เป็นกรอบความร่วมมือเดียวที่มีเฉพาะประเทศลุ่มน้ำโขงเป็นผู้ขับเคลื่อนหลักในการกำหนดวาระการพัฒนาและทิศทางความร่วมมือในอนุภูมิภาคฯ และเป็นกรอบความร่วมมือที่ยึดอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขงเป็นศูนย์กลาง (Mekong-centric) ทั้งนี้ การมีตราสัญลักษณ์อย่างเป็นทางการเป็นครั้งแรกตั้งแต่ ACMECS จัดตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี 2546 ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญ ซึ่งจะช่วยสร้างเสริมความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับ ACMECS ของภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ ต่อไป

ตราสัญลักษณ์ ACMECS ที่เปิดตัวในวันนี้ ออกแบบโดยนายไพฑูรย์ ปฏิสนธิเจริญ ซึ่งได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศจากโครงการประกวดออกแบบตราสัญลักษณ์ ACMECS ที่มีผู้ส่งผลงานเข้าร่วมประกวดจากทั้ง 5 ประเทศสมาชิก ACMECS ตราสัญลักษณ์ดังกล่าว ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากหยดน้ำซึ่งสื่อถึงอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง  และใบพัดที่มีลักษณะเสมือนหมุนอยู่และไม่หยุดนิ่ง ซึ่งสื่อถึงการมีพลวัตและความพร้อมที่จะปรับเปลี่ยนตามสถานการณ์และการมีวิสัยทัศน์ที่มุ่งไปข้างหน้า (forward-looking) นอกจากนี้ การหมุนรวมตัวกันของเส้นสาย สื่อถึงการเชื่อมโยงและความร่วมมือของอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง โดยที่สีต่าง ๆ ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากสีของธงชาติประเทศสมาชิก ACMECS ทั้ง 5 ประเทศ

ACMECS เป็นกรอบความร่วมมือในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง ซึ่งริเริ่มจัดตั้งโดยไทยเมื่อปี 2546 เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถทางการแข่งขัน การสร้างการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ และโอกาส การจ้างงาน รวมถึงลดช่องว่างทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนาระหว่างประเทศสมาชิก 5 ประเทศ ได้แก่ กัมพูชา สปป. ลาว เมียนมา เวียดนาม และไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับประเทศหุ้นส่วนเพื่อการพัฒนา (Development Partners: DPs) ได้แก่ ออสเตรเลีย จีน อินเดีย ญี่ปุ่น สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี และสหรัฐอเมริกา เพื่อให้เข้ามามีบทบาทเชิงสร้างสรรค์ในอนุภูมิภาคฯ อย่างสอดคล้องและเกื้อกูลกัน

On 18 July 2024, the Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand through the ACMECS Interim Secretariat organised the Launching Ceremony of the ACMECS Logo in Bangkok. The event was chaired by Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and attended by representatives of ACMECS Member Countries and relevant stakeholders.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary delivered a speech emphasising the significance of ACMECS in fostering constructive cooperation both amongst ACMECS Member Countries and between ACMECS and Development Partners in being a Mekong-centric cooperation framework that is truly driven by Mekong Countries. The official logo marks a milestone for ACMECS that will help to promote its awareness, since the framework’s establishment in 2003.

The ACMECS logo launched today was designed by Mr. Paitoon Patisonticharoen, the Winner of ACMECS Logo Design Competition which was participated by contestants from all five ACMECS countries. The ACMECS logo was inspired by water droplets which represented the Mekong sub-region and a water turbine which depicts a forward-looking and dynamic cooperation framework. Altogether, the ACMECS logo signifies connectivity and cooperation of the Mekong sub-region. Noted that the colours of the logo derives from the colour of the flags of ACMEC Member countries.

The ACMECS is a Mekong sub-regional cooperation framework initiated by Thailand in 2003 to enhance competitiveness, economic growth and job opportunities as well as reduce economic development gaps among five Member Countries, namely, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. ACMECS also promotes constructive engagement with six development partners, namely, Australia, China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United States.
