เมื่อวันที่ 18 พฤศจิกายน 2568 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ พบหารือกับนางสาวสุพรรณี งามวุฒิกุล ผู้ช่วยเลขาธิการสถาบันพระปกเกล้า ณ สถาบันพระปกเกล้า อาคารรัฐประศาสนภักดี ศูนย์ราชการเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 80 พรรษา เรื่องการขับเคลื่อนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทย

ทั้งสองฝ่ายหารือเกี่ยวกับความคืบหน้าและแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทย โดยเฉพาะบทบาทของฝ่ายนิติบัญญัติ ในการเสริมสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจในวงกว้าง และการปรับปรุงหรือ
ออกกฎหมายที่สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานของ OECD  รวมถึงได้หารือเพื่อเตรียมการให้นายมาทีอัส คอร์มันน์ เลขาธิการ OECD ไปกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษ ซึ่งสถาบันพระปกเกล้าและศูนย์ศึกษาการต่างประเทศ (ISC) ของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ จะร่วมกันจัดขึ้นในโอกาสที่นายมาทีอัสฯ เยือนไทยอย่างเป็นทางการในวันที่ 8 ธันวาคม 2568

นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับความคืบหน้าของการจัดตั้งคณะกรรมการที่ปรึกษาของรัฐสภาไทย ที่สถาบันฯ กำลังดำเนินการ เพื่อให้คำปรึกษาเรื่องกฎหมายและนโยบายที่ต้องปรับตามมาตรฐาน OECD ซึ่งเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการสนับสนุนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิกของไทย

อนึ่ง การเดินทางเยือนไทยของเลขาธิการ OECD ในช่วงต้นเดือนธันวาคมศกนี้ นับเป็นการเยือนไทยอย่างเป็นทางการ ครั้งที่ 3 ในรอบ 2 ปี สะท้อนถึงความต่อเนื่องและพลวัตของกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทย โดยในโอกาสเยือน เลขาธิการ OECD จะได้พบปะหารือกับผู้แทนระดับสูงจากทุกภาคส่วน และเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD

On 18 November 2025, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, met with Ms. Suphannee Ngamwuttikul, Assistant Secretary-General of King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI), at the Government Complex to discuss ways to further advance Thailand’s accession to the OECD.

Both sides exchanged views on progress and key priorities, particularly the role of the legislative branch in raising public awareness and ensuring that laws and regulations are aligned with OECD standards. They also discussed preparations for a special lecture by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann to be co-organised by KPI and the International Studies Center (ISC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ policy think tank, during his official visit to Thailand on 8 December 2025.

The meeting also discussed progress on the establishment of an advisory council of the Thai Parliament, currently being undertaken by KPI, to provide guidance on legal and policy adjustments required in the accession process. This mechanism will play an important role in supporting Thailand’s efforts as it moves forward with the membership bid.

The OECD Secretary-General’s upcoming official visit to Thailand in early December will mark his third official visit to Thailand in two years, reflecting the continuity and dynamism of Thailand’s OECD accession process. During the visit, Secretary-General Cormann will meet with high-level representatives from relevant sectors and participate in activities related to Thailand’s accession process.
