เมื่อวันที่ 10 กรกฎาคม 2567 นายพฤทธิพงษ์ ปุณฑริโกบล ผู้อำนวยการกองนโยบายเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ เป็นผู้แทนของกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ บรรยายพิเศษหัวข้อ “การเข้าร่วมกรอบความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศของไทย : ทิศทาง โอกาสและความท้าทาย” ระหว่างการประชุมคณะกรรมการสายงานต่างประเทศของสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย ครั้งที่ 1/2567

          ผู้อำนวยการกองนโยบายเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศได้ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับหลักการและการดำเนินการในประเด็นการขับเคลื่อนการทูตเชิงเศรษฐกิจของไทย ซึ่งรวมถึงการเริ่มกระบวนการหารือเพื่อเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD และการเข้าสมัครเป็นสมาชิกกลุ่ม BRICS ของไทย และได้ร่วมหารือแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในเชิงลึกในเรื่องกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ประโยชน์ที่ไทยจะได้รับโดยเฉพาะในด้านการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน การเตรียมพร้อมของฝ่ายไทย และแนวทางการมีส่วนร่วมของภาคเอกชนไทย ในการนี้ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศในฐานะองค์ประกอบสำคัญของภาคเอกชนไทยได้แสดงความพร้อมที่จะร่วมขับเคลื่อนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิกอย่างเต็มที่

            On 10 July 2024, Mr. Pruthipong Poonthrigobol, Director of Division of International Economic Policy, representing the Department of International Economic Affairs, gave a special briefing on “Thailand’s role in international economic cooperation frameworks: directions, opportunities, challenges” at the 1^st Meeting of the Committte on Foreign Affairs of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).

             The Director presented the principles and practices of Thailand’s economic diplomacy, which includes the accession discussion for OECD membership and the application for BRICS membership. In particular, the meeting discussed in detail the OECD accession discussions, the expected benefits in enhancing competitiveness, and the preparation of the Thai side, as well as how the Thai private sector can further increase their participation in this process. The Federation of Thai Industries, as a key part of Thai private sector, reaffirmed its readiness to continuously and intensively contribute to the success of the accession process.
