เมื่อวันที่ 9 ตุลาคม 2569 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ ในฐานะเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปคของไทย เป็นประธานในการประชุมเตรียมการสำหรับสัปดาห์การประชุมผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค ประจำปี 2569 (2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Week: AELW) ซึ่งสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 13 – 19 พฤศจิกายน 2569 ณ เมืองเซินเจิ้น เพื่อหารือและระดมสมองร่วมกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องของไทยในการกำหนดท่าทีและจัดทำถ้อยแถลงของไทยสำหรับการเข้าร่วมประชุมดังกล่าว

การประชุม AELW ประจำปี 2569 จะจัดขึ้นภายใต้หัวข้อหลัก “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together" โดยจะมีผลลัพธ์สำคัญที่มุ่งแน้นขับเคลื่อนวาระการจัดตั้งเขตการค้าเสรีเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก (FTAAP) การส่งเสริมความเชื่อมโยงในภูมิภาค รวมถึงการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลและ AI เพื่อการเติบโตอย่างมีนวัตกรรม ในส่วนของไทย จะให้ความสำคัญกับการเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงและความเข้มแข็งทางเศรษฐกิจ เพื่อรับมือกับการหยุดชะงักของห่วงโซ่อุปทาน การใช้ AI อย่างรับผิดชอบและการต่อต้านอาชญากรรมออนไลน์ ตลอดจนการรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงโครงสร้างทางเศรษฐกิจและประชากร

ทั้งนี้ กำหนดการสำคัญของ AELW 2026 จะเริ่มจากการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสครั้งสุดท้าย (Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting: CSOM) การประชุมสภาที่ปรึกษาทางธุรกิจเอเปค ครั้งที่ 4 ประจำปี 2569 (ABAC 4/2026) การประชุม APEC CEO Summit  และการประชุมผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค ครั้งที่ 33 (33^rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting: AELM)

On October 9, 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs and Thailand’s APEC Senior Official, chaired a preparatory meeting for the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Week (AELW), which will be hosted by the People’s Republic of China in Shenzhen from 13 - 19 November 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from relevant Thai agencies to exchange views and coordinate preparations for Thailand’s participation in the AELW.

The 2026 AELW will be held under the theme, “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together.” Key deliverables are expected to highlight efforts towards the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), strengthen regional connectivity, and promote the digital economy and artificial intelligence (AI) as drivers of innovation and growth. Thailand will focus on enhancing economic security and resilience against supply chain disruptions, promoting the responsible adoption of AI, strengthening cooperation to combat online scams, and addressing evolving economic and demographic challenges to support sustainable and inclusive growth.

Key events during the 2026 AELW include the Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting (CSOM), the 4^th APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Meeting, the APEC CEO Summit, and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM).
