เมื่อวันที่ 21 ต.ค. 2568 นายวิชาวัฒน์ อิศรภักดี ทปษ. ของ รมว. กต. ได้กล่าวถ้อยแถลงในการอภิปรายทั่วไปของการประชุมสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยการค้าและการพัฒนา สมัยที่ 16 (UNCTAD XVI) ณ สนง. สหประชาชาติ นครเจนีวา

ทปษ. วิชาวัฒน์ฯ ย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของไทยต่อพหุภาคีนิยมที่มีสหประชาชาติเป็นแกนกลางและการฟื้นฟูเสถียรภาพและความคาดการณ์ได้ของเศรษฐกิจโลก โดยประเทศกำลังพัฒนาควรให้ความสำคัญลำดับต้นกับการเสริมสร้างความยืดหยุ่นและความสามารถในการแข่งขันทางเศรษฐกิจ การพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ การปฏิรูปสถาปัตยกรรมทางการเงินระหว่างประเทศ และการสร้างหุ้นส่วนที่เข้มแข็ง

ทปษ. วิชาวัฒน์ฯ ยังได้ย้ำการดำเนินนโยบายการพัฒนาของไทยซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงและโมเดลเศรษฐกิจ BCG โดยรัฐบาลมุ่งที่จะปรับโครงสร้างทางเศรษฐกิจและวางรากฐานในระยะยาว เช่น การจัดทำความตกลงการค้าเสรีที่มีคุณภาพและการเข้าร่วมเป็นสมาชิก OECD อีกทั้งเรียกร้องให้มีความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาคและระหว่างประเทศในการจัดการกับการไหลเวียนของเงินตราที่ผิดกฎหมายและอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ โดยเฉพาะการหลอกลวงออนไลน์ ซึ่งไทยจะร่วมแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าวกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้านอย่างใกล้ชิด

นอกจากนี้ ไทยยินดีต่อการครบรอบ 60 ปีของ UNCTAD เมื่อปีที่ผ่านมา และความร่วมมือที่ดีระหว่าง UNCTAD กับไทย เช่น โครงการส่งเสริมการส่งออกกาแฟอาราบิกาอย่างยั่งยืนและสถาบันระหว่างประเทศเพื่อการค้าและการพัฒนาที่กรุงเทพฯ

และในวันเดียวกันนี้ ทปษ. วิชาวัฒน์ฯ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมโต๊ะกลมระดับรัฐมนตรีในหัวข้อ “Harnessing artificial intelligence for inclusive and sustainable development” ซึ่งหารือเกี่ยวกับการสร้างความตระหนักรู้และขีดความสามารถทางดิจิทัลแก่ประชาชนเพื่อให้สามารถใช้ปัญญาประดิษฐ์ได้อย่างเหมาะสม

On 21 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered Thailand’s statement at the General Debate of the 16th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XVI), held at the United Nations Office at Geneva.

In his statement, the Advisor to the Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism with the United Nations at its core, and the importance of restoring stability and predictability in the global economy. He pointed out that developing countries should prioritise strengthening business resilience and competitiveness, investing in human capital development, reforming the international financial architecture, and forging robust partnerships.

The Advisor to the Minister also highlighted Thailand’s development pathway which is guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model. The Royal Thai Government is laying a long-term foundation for economic restructuring through pursuing high-quality free trade agreements and membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He further called for regional and international cooperation to combat illicit financial flows and transnational crimes, particularly online scams, noting that Thailand will continue to work closely with neighbouring countries to address these challenges.

Thailand also welcomed the commemoration of UNCTAD’s 60th anniversary last year as well as the close cooperation between Thailand and UNCTAD such as the project on sustainable Arabica coffee exports and the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) based in Bangkok.

On the same day, Advisor to the Minister participated in the Ministerial round table on “Harnessing artificial intelligence for inclusive and sustainable development,” which discussed about raising public awareness and digital capacity to enable people to utilise artificial intelligence appropriately.
