On Day Three (23 January 2025) of the WEF AM25 in Davos, Switzerland, H.E. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and H.E. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, attended a meeting with CEOs of the Thai private sector and representatives of the WEF to discuss opportunities in establishing a Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Thailand. The Center in Thailand would be envisioned to focus on the agri-food sector, strengthen climate resilience in the country and promote Thailand’s role as a leader in sustainable agriculture.
The two Ministers presented Thailand’s vision to become the “Kitchen of the World”, leveraging Thailand’s strength in the agri-food sector and Thailand’s position as the largest agricultural exporter in ASEAN and the eighth largest globally. The Ministers emphasized the need for the Center in Thailand to support the country in becoming a regional hub for research in agri-food technology.
