เมื่อวันที่ 13 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ เป็นประธานการประชุมเตรียมการหน่วยงานไทยสำหรับการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปค ครั้งที่ 1 ประจำปี 2568 ซึ่งเกาหลีใต้จะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ - 9 มีนาคม 2568 ณ เมืองคยองจู เกาหลีใต้ในหัวข้อหลัก “เสริมสร้างวันพรุ่งนี้ที่ยั่งยืน” (Building a Sustainable Tomorrow)
ที่ประชุมได้หารือประเด็นสำคัญสำหรับไทยในกรอบเอเปคในห้วงปี 2568 ซึ่งรวมถึงการใช้ประโยชน์จากดิจิทัล ปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (AI) ธรรมาภิบาล AI วาระการจัดตั้งเขตการค้าเสรีเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก (FTAAP) งานด้านความครอบคลุมและยั่งยืน รวมถึงขับเคลื่อนรางวัลบีซีจีของเอเปค (APEC BCG Award) ปี 2568
ประเทศไทยเป็นหนึ่งในเขตเศรษฐกิจสมาชิกผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งเอเปคเมื่อปี 2532 และมีบทบาทร่วมขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือเพื่อส่งเสริมการค้าการลงทุนในภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก โดยเคยเป็นเจ้าภาพเอเปคมาแล้ว 2 ครั้ง ได้แก่ เมื่อปี 2546 และล่าสุด เมื่อปี 2565 ที่ได้ริเริ่มให้จัดทำ “เป้าหมายกรุงเทพฯ ว่าด้วยเศรษฐกิจ BCG” ซึ่งเป็นเป้าหมายด้านความยั่งยืนฉบับแรกของเอเปค
On 13 February 2025, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, chaired a preparatory meeting for the first APEC Senior Official’s Meeting 2025, which South Korea will host during 24 February - 9 March in Gyeongju, South Korea, under the theme of “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow.”
The meeting discussed Thailand’s priorities in APEC and highlighted key issues for 2025 such as digitalisation and AI, including its governance; creative economy, Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), inclusivity and sustainability, as well as the implementation of the APEC BCG Award 2025.
Thailand is one of the founding members of APEC and has been actively contributing to fostering trade and investment cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region since 1989. Thailand hosted APEC twice: in 2003 and 2022. During the latter event, APEC Economic Leaders endorsed the "Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy," initiated by Thailand marking the first workplan on sustainability for the forum.
