นายกรัฐมนตรีได้ย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการยกระดับความร่วมมือด้านการค้าการลงทุนกับทุกประเทศ ยินดีที่ไทยและ EFTA ได้บรรลุข้อสรุปในการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีระหว่างกัน ซึ่งจะลดอุปสรรคและอำนวยความสะดวกการค้าของทั้งสองฝ่าย โดยเฉพาะสมาพันธรัฐสวิส ซึ่งเป็นคู่ค้าอันดับ 2 ของไทยในยุโรป ย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของไทยและขอรับการสนับสนุนในการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย-สหภาพยุโรปให้แล้วเสร็จภายในปี 2568 กับสวีเดน ตลอดจนผลักดันการริเริ่มการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีกับบังกลาเทศ นอกจากนี้ นายกรัฐมนตรียังได้แสดงความพร้อมในการเป็นเจ้าภาพการประชุมผู้นำ BIMSTEC ครั้งที่ 6 ในเดือนเมษายน รวมทั้งเตรียมพร้อมส่งมอบหน้าที่ประธาน BIMSTEC ต่อให้กับบังกลาเทศ

 

 

During the second day (22 January 2025) of the WEF AM25 in Davos, Switzerland, H.E. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, joined H.E. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, in her bilateral discussion with (1) H.E. Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, (2) H.E. Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Sweden, and (3) H.E. Karin Keller-Sutter, President of Switzerland.

The Prime Minister reiterated Thailand’s commitment to increase trade and investment with all countries. She welcomed the conclusion of Thai-EFTA FTA which will help reduce barriers and facilitate trade between Thailand and EFTA countries, especially Switzerland, the second biggest trading partner of Thailand in Europe. The Prime Minister reiterated Thailand’s determination to conclude the Thai-EU FTA by 2025 and asked for Sweden’s support. For Bangladesh, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that Thailand and Bangladesh could commence FTA negotiations and looked forward to hosting the 6th BIMSTEC Summit as well as to handing over the chairmanship to Bangladesh.
