เมื่อวันที่ 26 กรกฎาคม 2567 นางสาลินี ผลประไพ รองอธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศและผู้แทนสำรองของเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปคของไทย เป็นประธานในการประชุมเตรียมการหน่วยงานไทยเพื่อเข้าร่วมการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปค ครั้งที่ 3 ประจำปี 2567 (APEC SOM3) ซึ่งเปรูจะเป็นเจ้าภาพระหว่าง 12-25 ส.ค. 2567 ที่กรุงลิมา ภายใต้หัวข้อหลัก Empower. Include. Grow. เน้นเชื่อมโยงการค้าการลงทุน การเติบโตที่ยั่งยืน ยืดหยุ่น และครอบคลุมคนทุกกลุ่ม

ในช่วง SOM3 ไทยจะสนับสนุนประเด็นสำคัญในการเป็นเจ้าภาพของเปรูและสานต่อผลลัพธ์จากการเป็นเจ้าภาพเอเปคของไทยเมื่อปี 2565 โดยร่วมหารือเรื่องเขตการค้าเสรีเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก (FTAAP) ขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายกรุงเทพฯ ว่าด้วยเศรษฐกิจ BCG (Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy) นำเสนอความคืบหน้า APEC BCG Award ประจำปี 2567 และใช้ประโยชน์จากนวัตกรรมเพื่อการเติบโตที่ยั่งยืน ยืดหยุ่น และครอบคลุม

การประชุมในช่วง SOM3 จะปูทางไปสู่การประชุมผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค (APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting: AELM) ซึ่งเปรูจะเป็นเจ้าภาพในเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2567 ณ กรุงลิมา โดยนอกเหนือจากการประชุมระดับเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโส คณะกรรมการและคณะทำงานต่าง ๆ จำนวน 28 รายการแล้ว ในห้วง SOM3 ยังมีกำหนดการประชุมรัฐมนตรีเอเปครายสาขา อาทิ การประชุมรัฐมนตรีพลังงาน การประชุมรัฐมนตรีด้านความมั่นคงทางอาหาร และการประชุมระดับสูงว่าด้วยสาธารณสุขและเศรษฐกิจ

On 26 July 2024, Mrs. Salinee Phonprapai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs and Thailand APEC Alternate Senior Official, chaired a preparatory meeting for the Third APEC Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings (APEC SOM3/2024), which will be held during 12 - 25 August 2024 in Lima, Peru. Over 30 Thai agencies participated and shared progress of Peru’s host year under the theme ‘EMPOWER. INCLUDE. GROW.’, with a view to connect trade and investment and sustainable, resilient and inclusive growth for all.

During SOM3, Thailand will support Peru's priorities and drive forward the priorities from Thailand’s host year in 2022, including advancing discussions on the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy, APEC BCG Award, as well as utilisation of innovation for sustainable, resilient and inclusive growth.

APEC SOM3/2024 will pave the way for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) to be hosted by Peru in Lima this upcoming November. Aside from the Senior Officials' Meeting and 28 meetings of committees and working groups, Peru will also host sectoral ministerial meetings on the margins of SOM3 namely APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting, APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting and APEC High-Level Meeting on Health and the Economy.
