เมื่อวันที่ 5 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ ในฐานะเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปคของไทย เป็นประธานในการประชุมเตรียมการหน่วยงานไทยเพื่อเข้าร่วมการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปค ครั้งที่ 3 ประจำปี 2569 (APEC SOM3/2026) ซึ่งสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 17 – 28 ส.ค. 2569 ณ เมืองต้าเหลียน เพื่อติดตามพัฒนาการการดำเนินงานภายใต้กรอบเอเปคของหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ ของไทยในช่วงที่ผ่านมา และหารือการกำหนดท่าที ตลอดจนประเด็นที่ไทยประสงค์ผลักดันในการประชุมดังกล่าว

ในการประชุม APEC SOM3/2026 ไทยจะสนับสนุนประเด็นสำคัญในการเป็นเจ้าภาพของสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะการส่งเสริมการบูรณาการทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค การยึดมั่นต่อระบบการค้าพหุภาคีที่มีองค์การการค้าโลกเป็นแกนกลาง การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน การค้าดิจิทัล ความร่วมมือด้านปัญญาประดิษฐ์ และการส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของคนทุกกลุ่ม นอกจากนี้ ไทยยังจะใช้โอกาสในการเข้าร่วมการประชุมดังกล่าว ติดตามพัฒนาการสำคัญของข้อริเริ่มที่จะเป็นเอกสารผลลัพธ์สำคัญในประชุมผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค ครั้งที่ 33 ในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2569 นี้ ตลอดจนผลักดันโครงการสำคัญของไทยในเอเปค เช่น โครงการ APEC BCG Award และการจัดทำ Guidance on Anti-Online Scams for APEC

ทั้งนี้ การประชุม APEC SOM3/2026 จะเป็นการเตรียมการสำคัญสำหรับสัปดาห์การประชุมผู้นำเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค ครั้งที่ 33 ซึ่งมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2569 ที่เมืองเซินเจิ้น โดยนอกจากการประชุมระดับเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโส คณะกรรมการ และคณะทำงานต่าง ๆ รวมกว่า 20 รายการแล้วจีนยังมีกำหนดจัดการประชุมรัฐมนตรีเอเปคด้านความมั่นคงทางอาหาร การหารือเพื่อทบทวนแผนปฏิบัติการ Aotearoa และการประชุม Policy Dialogue ด้านความเชื่อมโยงและเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลในห้วงดังกล่าวด้วย

On 5 August 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs and Thailand's APEC Senior Official, chaired a preparatory meeting to coordinate Thai agencies’ participation  in the Third APEC Senior Officials' Meeting 2026 (APEC SOM3/2026), to be hosted by the People's Republic of China from 17–28 August 2026 in Dalian. The meeting reviewed the progress of Thailand's engagement across various APEC workstreams as well as discussed Thailand's positions and key priorities for SOM3.

At the APEC SOM3/2026, Thailand will continue to support China's host-year priorities, particularly efforts to promote regional economic integration, uphold the multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core, advance sustainable development, promote digital trade, strengthen cooperation on AI, and foster inclusive participation for all groups. Thailand will also follow developments on key initiatives that are expected to become deliverables for the 33^rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM), scheduled for November 2026. In addition, Thailand will continue to advance its own initiatives within APEC, including the APEC BCG Award and the development of the Guidance on Anti-Online Scams for APEC.

APEC SOM3/2026 will pave the way for the 33^rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen in November 2026. Alongside more than 20 meetings of Senior Officials, committees, and working groups, China will also host the APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting, discussions on the review of the Aotearoa Plan of Action, and Policy Dialogues on Connectivity and the Digital Economy during the same period.
