เมื่อวันที่ 7 กรกฎาคม 2569 กรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกับศูนย์ศึกษาเอเปคไทย (Thai APEC Study Centre: TASC) ภายใต้สถาบันอาณาบริเวณศึกษา (Thailand Institute of Area Studies: TIARA) มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และสำนักเลขาธิการเอเปค จัดงานสัมมนา “APEC Perspectives in an International Context” ณ ห้องนราธิป กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อส่งเสริมความรู้ความเข้าใจ และแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของกรอบเอเปคในการรับมือกับความท้าทายทางเศรษฐกิจและภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ที่กำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยมีนางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจ ระหว่างประเทศ และศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ศุภสวัสดิ์ ชัชวาลย์ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ร่วมกล่าวเปิด

ในช่วงการบรรยายพิเศษ นาย Eduardo Pedrosa ผู้อำนวยการบริหารสำนักเลขาธิการเอเปค (APEC Secretariat Executive Director: APEC ED) ได้กล่าวถึงพัฒนาการของเอเปคและบทบาทของความร่วมมือในภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิกภายใต้หัวข้อ “Regional Cooperation in a Changing World: Towards an Open, Dynamic, Resilient and Peaceful Asia-Pacific Community” โดยย้ำว่า แม้บริบทเศรษฐกิจโลกจะเผชิญความท้าทายและความไม่แน่นอนสูง แต่เอเปคยังคงเป็นเวทีสำคัญที่ช่วยเปิดพื้นที่สำหรับการหารือการประสานนโยบาย การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ นำไปสู่ความร่วมมือระหว่างเขตเศรษฐกิจสมาชิก

นอกจากนี้ ในช่วงการสัมมนา ยังมีการนำเสนอรายงานแนวโน้มสถานการณ์ทางเศรษฐกิจของภูมิภาคเอเปค โดยนาย Carlos Kuriyama ผู้อำนวยการหน่วยสนับสนุนนโยบายเอเปค (APEC Policy Support Unit: PSU) และการเสวนาในลักษณะถาม-ตอบ (Fireside Chat) กับ APEC ED โดยมีนายวารินทร์ สัจเดว เป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการ ซึ่ง APEC ED ได้แลกเปลี่ยนทัศนะเกี่ยวกับอนาคตของเอเปค ผลกระทบของปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (AI) ต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจ การเปลี่ยนแปลงของระบบการค้าโลก รวมถึงบทบาทของ
คนรุ่นใหม่ในการขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือในภูมิภาค

การจัดสัมมนาครั้งนี้สะท้อนความมุ่งมั่นของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศในการส่งเสริมความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือเอเปค และเปิดโอกาสให้ภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ ของไทยได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสำนักเลขาธิการเอเปค ตลอดจนสร้างเครือข่ายระหว่างภาครัฐ ภาควิชาการ และผู้แทนนักศึกษาไทย เพื่อร่วมขับเคลื่อนบทบาทของไทยในกรอบเอเปคและกรอบความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศอื่น ๆ โดยมีผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาควิชาการ นักศึกษา ภาคเอกชน และผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมกว่า 170 คน

On 7 July 2026, the Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with the Thai APEC Study Centre (TASC) under the Thailand Institute of Area Studies (TIARA), Thammasat University, and the APEC Secretariat, organised the seminar on “APEC Perspectives in an International Context” at the Narathip Auditorium. The seminar aimed to promote greater understanding and exchange of perspectives on the role of APEC in addressing evolving economic and geopolitical challenges. The event was presided over and officially opened by Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, and Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University.

During the event, Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat (APEC ED), delivered a keynote address on “Regional Cooperation in a Changing World: Towards an Open, Dynamic, Resilient and Peaceful Asia-Pacific Community.”, emphasising that despite growing uncertainty and economic challenges, APEC continues to serve as an comprehensive platform for dialogue, policy coordination, knowledge sharing, and practical cooperation among member economies.
The seminar also featured a presentation on the APEC Regional Trend Analysis by Mr. Carlos Kuriyama, Director of the APEC Policy Support Unit (PSU), followed by a Fireside Chat with the APEC ED, moderated by Mr. Varin Sachdev. During the discussion, Mr. Pedrosa shared his perspectives on the future of APEC, the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for economic development, the evolving global trading system, and the role of younger generations in advancing regional cooperation.

The seminar highlighted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to enhancing public awareness of APEC and provided a valuable opportunity for various sectors in Thailand to engage directly with experts from the APEC Secretariat. It also fostered networking among government agencies, academia, and university students to further strengthen Thailand's role in APEC and other international cooperation frameworks. The event attracted more than 170 participants from the public and private sectors, academic institutions, universities, and other organisations.
