เมื่อวันที่ 29 เมษายน 2569 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ ในฐานะเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปคของไทย ได้พบหารือกับนาย Casey Mace เจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปคสหรัฐฯ ในโอกาสเดินทางเยือนประเทศไทย

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทย-สหรัฐฯ ในกรอบความร่วมมือต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะเอเปค และ OECD โดยฝ่ายไทยได้เชิญชวนสหรัฐฯ เสนอชื่อวิสาหกิจขนาดกลาง ขนาดย่อม และรายย่อย (MSMEs) ชิงรางวัล APEC BCG Award ประจำปี 2569 ในขณะที่สหรัฐฯ สนใจพัฒนาการการสมัครเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทย พร้อมชื่นชมการใช้ AI ในการสนับสนุนกระบวนการดังกล่าว

นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายพร้อมกระชับความร่วมมือภายใต้หุ้นส่วนลุ่มน้ำโขง-สหรัฐฯ (Mekong – US Partnership) โดยสหรัฐฯ สนับสนุนประเด็นที่ไทยผลักดัน ได้แก่ การบริหารจัดการน้ำ การแก้ไขปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ และการป้องกันปราบปรามอาชญากรรมออนไลน์ ในส่วนของความร่วมมือในระดับทวิภาคี สหรัฐฯ ให้ความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อความร่วมมือด้านปัญญาประดิษฐ์ ความมั่นคงทางพลังงาน และการพัฒนาแร่ธาตุสำคัญ

On 29 April 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs and Thailand’s APEC Senior Official, met with Mr. Casey Mace, U.S. APEC Senior Official, during his official visit to Thailand.

Both sides exchanged views on advancing Thailand–U.S. cooperation through multilateral frameworks, with particular focus on APEC and the OECD. In this context, the Director-General encouraged the U.S. to submit nominations for the 2026 APEC BCG Award. The U.S. side, in turn, expressed interest in Thailand’s OECD accession process and commended the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting that effort.

In addition, both sides reaffirmed readiness to strengthen cooperation under the Mekong–U.S. Partnership (MUSP). Within this framework, the U.S. expressed support for Thailand’s priorities, including water resource management, tackling air pollution, and combating online scams. At the bilateral level, the U.S. emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with Thailand in the fields of AI, energy security, and the development of critical minerals.
