เมื่อวันที่ 24 เมษายน 2569 นางสาวรุจิกร แสงจันทร์ อธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ ได้พบหารือกับนายเฟลิเป เด ลา โมเรนา กาซาโด เอกอัครราชทูตราชอาณาจักรสเปนประจำประเทศไทย ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับราชอาณาจักรสเปนในมิติเศรษฐกิจและการเกษตรอย่างรอบด้าน อาทิ การขยายการเข้าถึงตลาดสินค้าเกษตรระหว่างกัน โดยเฉพาะสินค้าเนื้อสัตว์และผลไม้ การพิจารณามาตรการด้านสุขอนามัยและสุขอนามัยพืช (SPS) รวมถึงข้อเสนอของฝ่ายสเปนเกี่ยวกับการใช้หลักการแบ่งเขตปลอดโรค (regionalization) ตลอดจนความคืบหน้าของการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย–สหภาพยุโรป (Thai–EU FTA) และการขับเคลื่อนการทูตเศรษฐกิจเพื่อส่งเสริมการค้า การลงทุน และความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างภาคเอกชนของทั้งสองประเทศให้ใกล้ชิดยิ่งขึ้น

นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือถึงความร่วมมือในกรอบพหุภาคี โดยเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของการสนับสนุนระเบียบโลกที่ตั้งอยู่บนกติกาสากล (rules-based international order) และการส่งเสริมพหุภาคีนิยม ซึ่งเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการรับมือกับความท้าทายระดับโลก โดยเฉพาะประเด็นความมั่นคงทางอาหาร

ในโอกาสนี้ ฝ่ายสเปนได้ยืนยันการสนับสนุนการสมัครเข้าเป็นสมาชิกองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: OECD) ของไทย พร้อมทั้งเห็นพ้องถึงโอกาสในการขยายความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาศักยภาพ (capacity building) ของหน่วยงานไทย โดยเฉพาะในสาขาการเกษตร รวมถึงการใช้ประโยชน์จากกลไกความร่วมมือภายใต้คณะกรรมการด้านการเกษตรของ OECD ณ กรุงปารีส

นอกจากนี้ ฝ่ายสเปนได้กล่าวชื่นชมพัฒนาการของความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างสองประเทศที่เติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งในด้านการค้าและการลงทุน โดยมีบริษัทสเปนเข้ามาลงทุนในประเทศไทยเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ พร้อมทั้งแสดงความยินดีที่ประเทศไทยจะเป็นเจ้าภาพการประชุม IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings 2026 ในเดือนตุลาคม 2569 ซึ่งจะเป็นเวทีสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างบทบาทของไทยในเศรษฐกิจโลก

การพบหารือครั้งนี้เป็นไปด้วยบรรยากาศที่อบอุ่นและเป็นกันเอง สะท้อนถึงความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่างไทยกับราชอาณาจักรสเปน และความตั้งใจร่วมกันในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือให้ก้าวหน้ายิ่งขึ้น

On 24 April 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides exchanged views on enhancing Thailand–Spain cooperation in the economic and agricultural sectors in a comprehensive manner. Key issues discussed included expanding market access for agricultural products, particularly meat and fruits; sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures; as well as Spain’s proposal on the application of the regionalization principle. The two sides also discussed progress on the Thailand–European Union Free Trade Agreement (Thai–EU FTA) negotiations and the advancement of economic diplomacy to promote trade, investment, and closer linkages between the private sectors of both countries.
In addition, both sides discussed cooperation in multilateral frameworks, emphasizing the importance of upholding a rules-based international order and promoting multilateralism
as key mechanisms for addressing global challenges, particularly food security.

On this occasion, the Spanish side reaffirmed its support for Thailand’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and both sides recognized the potential to expand cooperation in capacity building for Thai agencies, particularly in the agricultural sector, including through engagement with the OECD Committee on Agriculture in Paris.

Furthermore, the Spanish Ambassador commended the continued growth of bilateral economic relations, particularly in trade and investment, noting the increasing presence of Spanish companies in Thailand. The Spanish side also congratulated Thailand for hosting the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings 2026 in October 2026, which will further strengthen Thailand’s role in the global economy.

The meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the close ties between Thailand and the Kingdom of Spain and their shared commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation.
